Growing with Nature: The Season of Wattles

As the strong westerly winds bring slightly warmer August days, a breath of change fills the air. Almost overnight, the quiet winter bush glows with golden light as masses of vibrant wattle flowers burst into bloom. Filling the air with the sweetest fragrance, they bring the beautiful promise of an approaching spring. Come along and celebrate the magical blooming of this native flower with us!

These events are designed as a family-inclusive space where adults and children connect, explore, and create side-by-side. Each monthly gathering brings a seasonal chapter of our Growing with Nature book to life, follow the rhythm of the seasons and inviting us all to notice and celebrate nature.

• A Storytelling Circle: We will open our morning in a warm community circle. Together, we will listen to the whimsical story of The Wattle Fairies and explore how the First Nations people read the blooming of the wattle as a clear sign that

  
  

• Seasonal Nature Craft & Sensory Play: Let the sunshine in! Working side-by-side, parents and children will weave beautiful wattle crowns to wear. We will also explore a Reggio-inspired sensory play invitation and experiment with dot-painting to capture the fluffy, 3-dimensional magic of the blossoms.  

  
  

• A Taste of Bush Tucker: To close our morning, families will enjoy a sensory tasting of roasted wattleseed, discovering the rich, nutty, chocolatey aroma of this incredible bush food.

Standard Workshop Ticket – $45 

Includes entry for 1 child and up to 2 adults, and all seasonal craft materials.

Sibling Add-on – $30 

Includes craft materials and entry for an additional child in the family. Siblings under 2 are welcome to join us for free.
