The Seasonal Song of the Gardens

A Seasonal Nature Immersion for Schools & Early Education Centres
This program offers a sequence of four immersive 2-hour guided explorations at the Noosa Botanic Gardens.
By visiting the Noosa Botanic Gardens in Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, children develop a profound sense of place and an understanding of ecological cycles that no textbook can provide. Rooted in the Forest School tradition, we move at the child’s pace, inviting them to become active participants in the living story of the places we visit.
A Collaborative Narrative
Every session culminates in a collaborative storytelling experience. We don’t just tell stories to children; we build them with them. Using the sights, sounds, and textures of the day, we weave a shared legend of the gardens that evolves as the seasons change.
Here is an example of what a session might look like:
Welcome circle
A sensory "tuning-in" circle and Acknowledgement of Country.
Guided Wandering
Exploring seasonal "secret spots."
Nature Play & Seasonal Craft
Hands-on creation with natural materials.
Collaborative Storytelling
A shared narrative experience tailored to the group.
Closing Circle
Reflective sharing and herbal tea.
