STORYTELLING WITH NATURE

Gather with us beneath the sweeping branches of The storytelling tree —where stories unfold like leaves and grow wild in the warmth of our imagination.

Storytelling with Nature invites children to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Noosa Botanic Gardens, to listen, wonder, and weave their own tales inspired by the natural world around them. 

Each week, we’ll become story detectives—peeking under logs, listening to bird chatter, and following the footprints of wild tales. We’ll wonder how a tree can be a friend, how lizards show bravery, or how the wind carries secrets. Nature will be our storyteller, and we’ll be the ones to scribble, sketch, and imagine it all into life.

What to expect

• During this 5 weeks program, children will explore themes such as belonging, kindness, courage, resilience and interconnection through storytelling and observation

• Discover real-life stories of how trees, plants and animals embody these qualities

• Create their very own Nature Story Journal over the 5 weeks to take home and treasure

• Develop confidence in expressing their voice through words, drawings, and imagination

This is a drop-off program designed to offer children a safe, nurturing space to connect deeply with the natural world and their own storytelling gifts.

When: Weekly 1.5 hour sessions

Where: Noosa Botanic Gardens, Gubbi Gubbi Country

Who: Children aged 6 to 10

What to bring: Water bottle, hat, light snack (we provide the rest!)

Cost: $145 for the full 5-week program (includes all materials + take-home journal)
