About the event

Welcome to a Slower Rhythm

Our Seedlings Nature Playgroup is a warm invitation to step away from the weekly hustle, put down the screens, and enjoy a gentle, predictable morning of nature connection.

Inspired by the gentle early childhood rhythms of the Steiner and Lifeways philosophies, this completely outdoor program is crafted to support the unique sensory needs of early childhood. We leave plastic toys and busy schedules behind; instead, we offer a collection of natural, non-toxic, and earth-friendly resources—from hand-dyed silks and wooden treasures to felt and natural plant-based paints. Following the breathing cycles of the land, we give your little ones a secure, beautiful space to naturally learn, play, and truly grow with nature.

The Nurturing Rhythm of Our Morning

Young children thrive when they know exactly what to expect. Every single week, we move together through a beautiful, grounding three-part sequence:

Gathering & Circle Time (In-Breath): We begin wrapped in community love on our large mat. Together, we share gentle seasonal songs, fingerplays, and moving rhymes that mirror the natural magic happening in the garden right now.

Sensory free play (Out-Breath): Children explore simple, open-ended nature prompts with non-toxic, natural play resources—like mixing clay and mud, pouring water, grinding herbs and flower petals, painting with natural pigments, or exploring soft silks, wooden toys, and felt. Little ones can also simply enjoy crawling through the grass, observing the visiting birds, and tuning in to the grounding energy of Mother Nature.

Shared Snack & Storytelling (In-Breath): We gather back at our base to refuel our bodies. While little ones are happily resting, they will experience a whimsical puppet or nature story brought to life with simple silks and natural elements, sparking deep curiosity and imagination.
