Growing with Nature July

Our Growing with Nature Monthly Gatherings are an invitation to step away from the rush of the weekly routine. They are designed as a family-inclusive space where adults and children don’t just attend—they connect, explore, and create side-by-side.

Each monthly gathering brings a seasonal chapter of our Growing with Nature book to life.  

July Gathering

The days are cool, the nights long, and the winter Earth is resting. While many trees have lost their leaves and entered a deep winter sleep called 'dormancy', our eastern coastline is secretly bursting with life and energy with the arrival of the humpback whales.

Our July Growing with Nature Gathering is a beautiful opportunity for families to come together, step out of the busy weekly routine, and connect with the rhythms of nature. This is an educational and cultural experience designed to spark curiosity and wonder in children and adults alike, framing parents and kids as co-explorers in the natural world.

The Rhythm of Our Morning 

The Storytelling Circle: Our story take us right into the heart of Makuru—the coldest season of the year—as we discover the extraordinary journey of a brave humpback whale, traveling along our coastline.

Guided Exploration: We will head out on a lovely walk through the gardens to see how nature thrives in the cold. We will observe the showy winter display of native Banksia trees, track the unique connections between winter birds and native flowers, and check in on the "sleeping" deciduous trees to find the tiny buds waiting for spring.

Seasonal Nature Craft: Working side-by-side, families will dive into a beautiful collaborative art project. We will be creating a textured Whale Mosaic using clay, glass and natural elements to create unique patterns into our designs. Every family will leave with a beautiful keepsake to display at home.

Standard Workshop Ticket – $45 

Includes entry for 1 child and up to 2 adults, and all seasonal craft materials. (Perfect for returning families who already own the book).

Sibling Add-on – $30 

Includes craft materials and entry for an additional child in the family. Siblings under 2 are welcome to join us for free.
