FOREST SCHOOL & PLAYGROUP MENTORS
Big Scrub is growing faster than we could have hoped for and interest in forest-schooling and nature play in Australia is booming.
This means we are looking for passionate educators to join our team in the near future to assist with our playgroups and Forest School program. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, caring, fit and energetic, and most importantly, FUN! Our team members are nurturing and caring, but also trust that children are inherently capable of teaching themselves and don't need constant guidance and interference while playing.
Previous experience in a bush kindy/forest school setting would be preferable but not necessary. You need to be familiar and passionate about nature-based learning and child-led play.
Before you apply, please ask yourself the following questions:
-
Do you love working with children?
-
Do you have a passion for the outdoors?
-
Are you a qualified (or in training) Early Childhood Educator, Outdoor Educator, Teacher or Environmentalist?
-
Do you think you have something unique to offer?
-
Do you enjoy playing, running, splashing in muddy puddles, dancing in the rain and have be out in nature rain, hail or shine?
-
Do you have Working With Children clearance?
-
Are you comfortable with working in an environment where you might encounter snakes, bugs, mosquito, spiders?
Days and hours will vary depending on our numbers but if you think this is the job for you, please email a cover letter and copy of your resume to hello@bigscrubnatureplay.com.
