It's time for adventure!
A fun day out for children aged 5 years and over.
We walk and explore and get to know this sacred land we are so fortunate to call home.
Simple tools such as binoculars and magnifying glasses, ropes, pen knives and nature journals are made available so children can explore activities such as knot making and lashings, wood carving, building shelters and cubbies and learning to identify local flora and fauna.
Through fun nature awareness games we connect with our own mind and body, our friends and our natural surroundings.
We visit amazing spaces within the Ballina and Byron Shires. We move around both to minimise our ecological impact and to expose children to the rich biodiversity of the Northern Rivers NSW region.
Oh, did we mention that we are all-weather kind of folks? So yes, we will still head out even if it's cold and wet. Nature is no less magical, there is just a different kind of magic happening. And it’s worth giving a shot.
There’s a wonderful Norwegian saying – “Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlig klær!” which translates to “There is no bad weather, only bad clothes!”, and we wholeheartedly agree!
Our programs will only be cancelled in case of extreme weather.
WHEN: Thursdays during school term, 9:30am to 2:30pm.
COST: $70 per session. Casual classes offered upon availability.
WHAT TO BRING: Children will need to pack water, a healthy lunch and a change of clothes. We offer a delicious afternoon snack made of fresh seasonal fruit, organic rice cakes with local honey and herbal teas (or the occasional hot chocolate!)
