Nature based loose parts play is a perfect medium for kids to tinker with the materials and ideas to create their own masterpieces.

Examples of natural loose parts include:

  • sticks, small and large

  • rocks and stones

  • small logs and branches

  • timber slates

  • ropes and natural coir ‘logs’

  • rope sticks

  • plant leaves, nuts and seeds

  • bark and natural fabric

  • shells and fossils

  • natural unusual shapes

  • alternative writing tools such as limestone, bark, charcoal

  • cleaned natural wool
