​Winter Solstice Family Gathering

Join us for our annual Winter Solstice Gathering – a heartwarming afternoon to mark the turning of the seasons and celebrate light, connection, and community.

This special event welcomes past, present, and new families to come together in the beauty of nature. We begin by crafting our own glowing solstice lanterns, each one a symbol of warmth and hope in the darker months ahead.

As part of our gathering, our friend Alex from Yogabean will guide us through a gentle yoga practice, themed around the sun and moon, honouring the dance between light and shadow. Through a mindful sun salutation sequence, we’ll tune into the sounds of the sea, gaze at the winter sky, and feel our magnificent bodies move and be nourished by the wonderful practice of yoga. This grounding practice will leave us feeling calm, grateful, and deeply present for the rest of our solstice journey.

As the sun begins to set, we’ll walk together along the shoreline with our lanterns, and gather to listen to a restorative nature story – a shared moment of stillness and wonder as the last light dips below the horizon.

This is a family event – children must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times.

Bring a picnic blanket and anything you need to feel cosy and comfortable outdoors – but most of all, bring your sense of curiosity and your inner light.
